Find a line perpendicular to x-6y=2 and passes through (2,4).
First: find the slope of the original line. rearrange to x-2=6y; divide by 6 so ( 1/6)x - 1/3 = y so m = 1/6.
Second: find the negative inverse of 1/6 to get the perpendicular...the answer is -6.
Third: Plug into Y-4 = -6(x-2) and solve.
y-4 = -6x +12
Finally: y=-6x+16
(plug x = 2 into equation to verify. y=(-6)(2) + 16 = 4
