         -30x            -$30x            Subtract 30x from both sides.

$125-5x = 50

 -125       -125                          Subtract 125 from both sides.

-5x/-5 = -75/-5                         Divide both sides by -5.

 

x = 15                                      Both memberships will cost the same after 15 months.
