The length of a rectangle is 2 feet more than three times the width. The perimeter is 36 feet. Find the dimensions.

Perimeter = 2 x length + 2 x width
P = 2 L + 2w
L = 3w + 2
36 = 2( 3w +2) + 2w
36 = 6w + 4 + 2w
36 = 8w + 4
32 = 8w
w = 4
Width is 4
Length is 3 x 4 + 2 = 12 + 2 = 14
