While it is true that the SAT does not have a dedicated science section, there is a cross-test score called "Analysis in Science." This is one of two cross-test scores and seven skill subscores that launched with the SAT’s redesign of 2016.
The cross-test score for science is computed from select, science-oriented questions within the reading, writing, and math sections. There is also a cross-test score for history/social studies. The range for cross-test scores is 10-40.
The seven skill subscores don't mix the math and English the sections the way the cross-test scores do, but instead are derived from either the math or English sections.
The math sections give rise to three skill subscores:
- Heart of Algebra
- Problem Solving and Data Analysis
- Passport to Advanced Math
The reading and writing sections together yield two skill subscores:
- Words in Context
- Command of Evidence
The writing section itself generates two more skill subscores:
- Expression of Ideas
- Standard English Conventions
The range for skill subscores is 1-15.
