The length of a rectangle is 3 meters longer than its width. If the perimeter is 36 meters, find the dimensions of the rectangle

Let w = the width

Let w + 3 = the length

P = 2l + 2w

36 = 2(w+3) + 2w

36 = 2w + 6 + 2w

30 = 4w

7 1/2 meters = w

w + 3 = 7 1/2 + 3

w = 10 1/2 meters
