To solve this problem and a similar one that you posted, start by examining all the terms.  Note that in this problem the first 2 terms have "a" in common.  Group those 2 and factor them.  Note the last 2 terms have "d" in common.  Group those 2 and factor them.  When you add the sums, you should note each term has a common factor, so factor again and you are done.  The way to solve these kinds of problems is pretty much the same.
