per mile. Company B charges $40

a day plus $0.30

per mile to rent the same truck. Find the number of miles in a day at which the rental costs for Company A and Company B are the same.

total cost=fixed cost+variable cost

 

let at x miles total cost for both becomes same

 

so 60+0.2*x=40+0.3*x

x=200 miles
