Is x a binomial random variable?

Question

The employees at a General Motors assembly plant are polled as they leave work. Each is asked, “What brand of automobile are you riding home in?” The random variable to be reported is the number of each brand mentioned. Is x a binomial random variable?

 

I said no X was not a random variable only because it would be so many different cars. Just wanted to check my answer

A binomial random variable only has two possible outcomes - yes/ no,  pass/ fail, etc. 

 

It's a random variable but it's not binomial
