to find the sum of two integers you must (1) have two integers, and (2) know what sum means.

 

Here is an example: suppose you have the two integers 2 and 5. Summing is addition, so 2+5 = 7.

This will also work for other choices of integers, but of course you may expect different sums in most cases.
