It appears that you are in need of writing a formula for cost, and then figuring out how far Katie could be driven for one taxi ride costing $10.
C(x) represents Cost of going x miles; C(x) = 1.75 + 0.65x
If you replace C(x) by 10 and solve for x, you'll see just how far ten bucks will take her.
I suggest that you study this carefully--don't give up until it makes sense to you and you could do similar work in future.
