During 7 1/2 months of hibernation a black bear experienced a weight loss of 64.4 lb on average. what was the Bears weight change per month round to the nearest tenth.

I did 64.4 divide by 7.5 gave me 8.586 rounded to the nearest tenth 8.6 . Says that the answer is incorrect. Please help me to understand.

The bear loses weight at a rate of 8.6 lbs/month, so the rate of change in its weight is -8.6 lbs/month.  Try -8.6 lbs/month.
