I  did 64.4 divide by 7.5 gave me 8.586 rounded to the nearest tenth 8.6 .  Says that the answer is incorrect.  Please help me to understand.

Based on the wording of the problem, and the numbers provided in the problem, the weight loss per month has to be 64.4/7.5 lbs/month.  There is no other possible answer, with this information.   Perhaps since it is a loss of weight, they want the rate expressed as a negative number.  To say the bear lost weight at a rate of 8.6 lbs/month is the same as saying his weight changed at a rate of -8.6 lbs/month.  Try -8.6 lbs/month and post a comment to let me know.

Hey, I did that, but before I submit it, is that the answer rounded to the nearest tenth?
