a scuba diver is swimming 15 ft below water surface. the diver swims slowly at 0.5 ft per second for 4 seconds; and then stops to look at an eel. Finally the diver swims up 3 more seconds at 0 .4 ft per second . What is the diver new depth

The diver does not go up or down before observing the eel.

3 x 0.4 feet = 1.2 feet downward.

 

15 + 1.2 = 16.2 feet below the surface of the water
