Let the width of the rectangle be W.

 

If the length is 5 centimeters less than twice the width, and if we let then length be L, then L = 2W - 5.

 

 

Since the Perimeter, P = 2L + 2W, then

 

80 = 2(2W-5) + 2W

80 = 4W - 10 + 2W

80 = 6W - 10

90 = 6W

15 = W    So, the width is 15 cm.

 

The length is 2W-5 = 2(15) - 5 - 30-5 = 25 cm.

 

So the rectangle is 15 cm by 25 cm
