Assuming the given information is accurate, determine whether the following statement is true.

If 50% of hotels have a restaurant and 40% have a pool, so 90% have a restaurant and swimming? Want to know if that makes sense. I don't think it does, but don't know how to set it up?

What if some of the 50% that have a restaurant also have a pool? The problem doesn't say that it's an "either-or" situation, that is a hotel has either a restaurant or a pool, but cannot have both. Therefore, we cannot assume that a total of 90% have a restaurant and swimming.

Thanks Michael, I thought I had edited it.  Should be or swimming pool.  So, then 90% would make sense? It seemed too easy!

Hi Suzy, thank you for your input, but I thought I edited my question so it should have said or.  So, then it does make sense that 90% have a restaurant or swimming pool?  Seemed to easy.
