Exponents with parentheses

the problem is: (5x)^14(5x)^16 I know to add the 14 and 16 because the bases are the same.And I would get
5x^30. does the 5x stay in parenethese? My choices are (5x)^30 and 5x^30

so you are saying that the 5 should also be raised to the 14th and 16th?
the answers i am given are : 5x^224...(5x)^30 ....5x^30...and (5x)^224
so what you are saying is not jiving...
