To find equivalent fractions you can multiply both the numerator and denominator by the same number or divide them by the same number.
For example,
- multiplying 36 and 72 each by 2 you would get 72/ 144
- dividing 36 and 72 each by 6 you would get 6/12
- dividing 36 and 72 each by 36 you would get 1/2
