For decimals, remember the rules of place value.
The first digit after a decimal is in the tenths place; the second in the hundredths place; the third in the thousandths; and so on.
So, for .1, 1 is in the tenths place. So, .1 = 1 tenth or 1/10.
If it is .01 (because you left a little space), since 1 is in the hundredths place, .01 is 1 hundredth or 1/100.
