asked 05/13/17calculate the total cost of the membership to each fitness center if enrolled for 12 months. which is cheaper?
jamal is deciding which fitness center to join. joe's gym charges an initial membership fee of $120 for the first month, and $24 for each additional month. king gym charges an initial membership fee of $89 for the first month, and $26 for each additional month. The total cost of a Joe's membership,t, in terms of months,m, is represented by the equation: t=120+24(m-1). the total cost of a king's membership is represented by the equation: t=120+24(m-1).

I would suggest using the following equations.
Joe's gym..
t=24m+120
King gym...
t=26m+89
Plugging in 12 for m, we would find that King's gym is a better deal at $401, vs $408 for Joes.

Nevermind. Missed that part about the first month only thing. Original comment works. Disregard.
