Math Geometry word problem

1) The length of a rectangle is increased by 20% and the breadth is reduced by 24 %. What is the percent change in the area of the rectangle ( suppose the length to the x units and breadth to be y units)

I doubt that this is a third grade word problem. Percentages are usually presented in 6th grade, possibly late in 5th.
