Hi Hae Hae,
so if we are looking at (10-9*24)/(8x6) we would start with Parenthesis. we would solve the top (10-9*24):
1. we have to do multiplication first, 9x24 = 216.
so if we are looking at (10-9*24)/(8x6) we would start with Parenthesis. we would solve the top (10-9*24):
1. we have to do multiplication first, 9x24 = 216.
2. 10-216 = -206.
3. Solve the bottom (8*6)= 48
4. Divide -206 by 48 = -4.29
The problem will be solved differently if there are not parenthesis so let me know if there are/ are not any!

We have this same equation minus the parentheses, we got 3.5 for an answer though I'm not sure of my math skills after all these years, is that a correct answer?

I thought you do division first?

This js exactly how the equation looks: 10-9*24/8*6

Kimberly- in PEMDAS, you actually evaluate multiplication and division at the same time, from left to right. So in your version of this equation, you would first do 9*24 (which is 216), then 216/8 (which is 27), then 27*6 (which is 162). 10-162 = -152.
