Standard form : ax + by =c 

 

Slope intercept form : Y = mx +b

 

     To change Slope intercept form to to standard form

 

               Y = mx + b

 

                 mx - y = -b

 

                For this case:

               

                Y = -9/10x + 9/4

 

               9/10 X + y = 9/4  ( 1)

   

              Multiply both sides by 40:

 

               36 X +  40 Y = 90

 

           Don't need to memorize any formula, just move terms over, and change from one form to another.

           Don't forget that they are the same equation.
