v₀ =50 ft/sec

 

g= 32 ft/s2 approximate

 

Hits ground when

 

0=45+50t-16t² 

 

Solve this for t>0

 

t= (-50+/-sqrt(2500+2880))/-32

 

t=(50+/-73.35)/32

 

t=3.85 seconds
