Hi Cameron, use the point-slope form of the line to solve this problem.
Point-slope form:
y - y1 = m * (x - x1)
Substitution:
y1 = -6
x1 = 6
m = -1/2
y - (-6) = -1/2 * (x - 6)
y + 6 = -1/2 * (x - 6)
Multiply the entire equation by 2 to clear the fraction:
2y + 6 = -1 * (x - 6)
2y + 12 = -x + 6
Put into standard form, Ax + By = C:
x + 2y = -6
