3X - 5Y = 10 <-- must solve for Y
3X - 10 = 5Y <-- they switch places and change signs in the process
3/5X - 2 = Y <-- divides both sides by 5
So the slope is 3/5. The intercept is -2.
Plot (0,-2) on the graph.
Then go up three and to the right 5 (rise=3, run=5 ... that's the slope)
You get (5,1).
Set up a table. pick mutiples of 5 for X so as to get rid of the fraction,
plug them in, figure out the Y; then graph
X Y
---------
-5 -5
0 -2
5 1
10 4 <--- notice everytime x goes up by 5, y goes up by 3... that's the slope
Happy graphing
