Where am I going wrong on this solution?

2x-y= -6
x+y= -6

started with x+y= -6
x=-6 - y

then
2( -6-y) -y = -6
-12-2y-y= -6
-12-3y=-6
-3y= -18
y= -6

x+ -6=-6
x=0

so I have the ordered pair as (0, -6)

is this correct?
