Of course the x is not in the denominators because they're linear equations.
Make things more manageable by CLEARING FRACTIONS (one of the most vital tricks in Algebra).
The first equation should be multiplied, throughout, by 8; then you'll have an easier version with only integer constants and coefficients.
The second equation should be multiplied,throughout, by 6, similarly
(These 'magic 'multipliers' are the common denominators.)
Now you should be on familiar territory & you can apply whatever techniques you have been taught.
