how do i pull equation from math problem

on their youth basketball team this season, joey scored 3/8 of 1/2 of the team's points, while ken scored 3/4 of 1/3 of the team's points. who scored more points and what was the difference between their two point totals?

Joey:  3/8 0f 1/2 = (3/8)(1/2) = 3/16 of team points

 

Ken: 3/4 of 1/3 = (3/4)(1/3) = 1/4 of team points

 

Difference:

Joey = 3/16

Ken = 1/4 = 4/16

 

Ken scored 1/16 more of the team points than Joey

 

Note:  We don't know their actual points because the

problem statement did not tell us how many points

the team made for the season.
