How many marbles will miguel have left over ?

Miguel has 49 red marbles, 56 green marbles,24 yellow marbles, and 98 blue marbles. He wants to share his marbles with seven friends by dividing them into 8 bags. He wants the bags to have the same amount of each color. How many of each color of marbles will miguel have left over?

To get the same number of marble color into 8 bags, divide the number of each color of marble by eight.  For example, for the red marbles:  

 

49÷8=6 with a remainder of 1 red marble.  So each of the bags gets 6 red marbles and Miguel has 1 red marble left over.

 

Do this for each of the other colors.
