We can use the point-slope form of a line:

 

y = m(x - x₁) + y₁

 

where:

m = slope = 5

(x₁ , y₂) is the point the line passes through = (-4, 5)

 

Because the line is parallel, the slope is the same.  Your parallel line is

 

y = 5(x + 4) + 5

I suggest you use the point along with the SAME SLOPE (-3, because parallel lines have same slopes).

 

y = mx + b

 

Substitute the point and m, and thus solve b.  That's one good way.
