I am given a graph with just a line and I am not given any points. Do I just use two random points on that line?

You can randomly select points.  However, that would be the hard way.  The easiest is to select...
y-intercept, (0,y)
x-intercept, (x,0)
Concerning the y-intercept, bear in mind the fact that...
y=mx+b
b is such value of y of the point (0,y).
Let me know how you do.
