Math word problem 2. Please help. It's multiple choice.

Question

A fruit vendor had $467.98 cash on hand in the morning. Total cash receipts after selling fruits during afternoon were $984.56 and during night were $2,573.69. The fruit vendor gave $3,300 cash to the owner of the store at closing time. What was the amount of cash on hand?

A. 726.00
B. 4026.23

C. 4206.23
D. 762.00

I thought I needed to just add and subtract but I do not get the same answer as any of my choices. I don't know what I did wrong.

Please explain how you got your answer.

This problem needs to be stated more correctly, such as how much money was in the cash register at each part of the day, because having $2573.69 in the cash register at night doesn't make it possible to hand off $3300 to the store owner at closing time.
