1st find the slope.
(change in y)/(change in x)
slope: m = (-1-(-2))/(-6-(-4))
m = 1/-2 = -1/2
Use point slope form
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
lets use (-6, -1) for (x1, y1)
y-(-1) = (-1/2)(x-(-6))
y +1 = (-1/2)x - 3
(1/2)x + y = -4
or, if you wish to clear fractions,
multiply through by 2
x + 2y = -8
