Danielle and his family went on vacation and drove a total of 1340 km. Of return they did 284 km less than in the way. How many km they drive in the return?

If we call the return distance x, then the travel time to the destination becomes x+284

 

Therefore, x+(x+284) = 1340

2x+284=1340

2x=1056

x=528 is the return distance
