This problem is worded poorly.  The gas is not being compressed.  It is being expanded, since the pressure is dropping, which we assume is at constant temperature, resulting in increasing volume.  Compression is a process where the volume is decreased, which is not the case here.  Anyway, Kris gave you a good solution, in spite of the poor wording of the problem.
