In order to take a fraction of a number, multiply the fraction times the number. So you would set it up like this:
2
--- x 21
7
Can you solve this by multiplying these? Please tell us the answer you got.

Fractions are basically division
x/y = x÷y
8/2 = 8÷2 = 4
2/8 = 2÷8 = 0.25
Basically this is just a line problem:
(2/7)(21) = 2÷7*21
Since this is all multiplication or division you can
rearrange the terms
2*21÷7 = 42÷7 =6

Hi Aniyah, if I asked you do divide a 100 into 10 equal parts, what would you do? You would divide the 100 by 10 to get 10 equal parts of 10 each.
The same is true for your problem. If you divide 21 by 7, you will have 1/7th of the total, or 3 questions. Rebecca has solved 2/7th of the problems.
If you multiply 2 * 3, you get 6. So, Rebecca has solved 6 of the 21 questions.
1/7 = 3 questions
2/7 = 6 questions
3/7 = 9 questions
4/7 = 12 questions
5/7 = 15 questions
6/7 = 18 questions
7/7 = 21 questions
