Simple business math question related to percentage

I have a small math equation i:e I have a amount of income $200.20 and i know its include commission of 6.50% + .40cent. How i calculate its main figure ? plz elaborate. thank you.

This question is some what ambiguous as you don't specify if the commission (+ $0.40) is going in your pocket or or someone else's 

 

Assuming you are getting the commission:

200.20=0.065x+0.4+x

200.20=1.065x+0.4

199.8=1.065x

x=187.61

 

Assuming someone else is getting the commission+40 cents:

200.20=x-(0.065x+0.4)

200.20=0.935x-0.4

200.6=0.935x

x=214.55
