Why is 8 the answer to this equation

1+1+1×2+2+2= , i thought it might be 10 or even maybe 18. I got confused earlier on a different one too but i soon figured it out 5%÷1+9÷0.3=30.05.

Since there are not parentheses or exponents, we go to multiplication first.

 

1 + 1 + 1 x 2 + 2 + 2 =

 

1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2

 

Now we can just add, since addition is only what is left.

 

The result is 8.
