and so on; not to mention fractions, decimals, and mixed numbers

there are infinitely ordered pairs that satisfy this equation

(3y - 3x)/3 = 12/3

 

y - x = 4

 

y = x + 4

 

If no other information is available, the ordered pair is just (x, x + 4).
