Psychological statistics problem: Which statistical psychology test should I use?

Using the median split method; determine whether students having high statistical resourcefulness (RESTIME1) differ from those having low statistical resourcefulness (RESTIME1) in their belief in their ability to complete PSYC3015(SETIME1). What is the 95% confidence interval, power of this observation and the effect size? Explain?

 

After using the median split method in R/Deducer, which statistical (psychology) test should  I use? Why? (E.g. correlations, regression, t-test, etc.)
