Use the zero-exponent rule to simplify -30 -(-3)0
- Any number raised to the zero power is equal to 1
- Remember, if the - is outside of the parentheses you apply it after the exponent; if the - is inside the parentheses, you include it with the number.
- For example, -22 = -(2)(2) = -4, but (-2)2 = (-2)(-2) = 4
-1 - 1 = -2
