Sally, Joe, Luke and Betty all have stamp collections. Betty has 45 stamps. Joe has three times more than Luke. Sally has 27 more stamps than Betty. Luke has 35 less stamps than Sally. How many more stamps does Joe have than Sally?

s = b + 27

l = s-35

 

Now solve for all of the variables.

 

s = 45 +27

s = 72

 

l = 72-35

l=37

 

j = 3*37
