Powers to the what will only contain 1's and 0's

In dealing with exponents, what powers will only contain 1's and 0's.

If you have a linear expression in some variables, the powers of the variables are all 1.

 

Example:

 

3x + 4y + 9z = 3x¹ + 4y¹ + 9z¹

 

If you have a constant expression, it is like having it multiplied by a variable to the power zero.

 

Example:

 

2 = 2(1) = 2(x⁰) = 2(y⁰) = 2(z⁰)
