BEWARE of anyone who tells you that "pi" = C/d has the value of 3.14. That's simply not good enough.
Calculators today know "pi" to MANY decimal places. If you must do the multiplication using "pi" on paper, then you should use 3.1416 as a 4-digit approximation. Then round the final answer to any number of decimal places as requested by teacher.
Obviously, the distance desired is "pi" times 45 yards because it's walking along the circumference.
