The following polynomial is not factored completely. Original Polynomial: 6a^3b+36a^2b+48a^4b Factored Polynomial: 3ab(2a^2+12a+16a^3)

Part A: Explain why the factored polynomial above is not factored completely.
 


Part B: Factor the original polynomial completely.

So true! An "a" can be factored out (they don't like to be pulled).

"Factored completely" means that ALL common factors are factored out. In A) the commons factors 2 and a remained in the parenthesis.
