If the problem is 3(x-9)-2=-35 how do i get the answer?

could somebody please show me how to get the answer for 3(x-9)-2=-35. I get as far as 3x-27-2=-35 and then I'm lost :/

3(x-9)-2=-35

 

3x-27-2=-35

3x-29=-35

3x = -35 +29

3x= -6

x= -2

 

check: LHS= 3(-2-9)-2 

                =3(-11)-2

                =-35= RHS
