First, you need to solve for y for each equation.  That is what it means to rewrite the equations in slope-intercept form:    y=mx+b      

 

Then, use the slopes and the y-intercepts to plot 2 points for each line on the same coordinate system.  Connect the 2 corresponding lines together to obtain your two lines. 

 

Finally, look for the point of intersection.  The point of intersection will be your solution.
