Multiply the given dimensions (sides of a rectangle presumably) and get answer in square inches.

 

Now multiply this by the SQUARE OF 1¾, i.e., (7/4)² and state this final answer as SQ. FT.

 

Comment: no architect or landscaping designer will be getting measurements using fractional SEVENTHS of an inch.

 

In the practical world, these dimensions would be having fractional parts where the denominators would be a power of two, e.g thirteen & 9/32 inches.  I attribute such impractical word problems to the exploitative for-profit efforts of Common Core addicts.
