Sarah began absence from her classes and began the rebellion. The sneak out of school with her friends and they are smoking and talking about hating their family. When her parents they know what she was doing they decided to do something so they will send her back to Iraq with her mother and sister for a period of forty days. Sarah thought the Iraq is a nice place but it was not only a mess. Finally, she felt that she belong to this place. When Sarah returned to Maryland she met with Daniel in her class. In one day, Daniel confessed his love to Sarah and began skipping classes together to go out on a date. Sarah became sneak out at night with Daniel. In one day, when she was sneak her family discovered her and they were screaming to stop but she continues running.

When Sarah began to be absent from her classes, it was a sign of the downward spiral of rebellion. As she continued her absences from school, she would smoke with her friends. A big warning sign was when the teens began talking about the hatred of their parents.

 

Upon finding out about these issues, her parents decided to send her to Iraq with her mother and sister for a period of forty days. Sarah's thoughts on Iraq were that it was a nice but a place with issues. Eventually, she felt that she belonged there.

 

She returned to Maryland after the forty days and met a classmate, Daniel. After only one day of knowing Sarah, Daniel professed his love to Sarah. They began skipping classes and dating instead of attending class. Sarah began to sneak out at night with Daniel. One night they discovered her sneaking out and demanded that she stop running.
