Treating this similarly to a fraction, we need to find a common denominator before we are able to combine the left side of the equation. From there, we should discover that we need to multiply the inner most fraction on the left-hand side by 2, both the top and bottom.
(x-2)/4x - 3/2x(2/2) = 1/8
We then get: (x-2)/4x - 6/4x = 1/8.
From combining the numerators we get:
x-2 - 6/4x = 1/8
x - 8 / 4x = 1 / 8
Cross multiply:
8(x-8) = (4x)1
8x - 64 = 4x
4x = 64
x = 16
